Disney!!!!

So, we made the decision to go to Disney World again. We are only going for 3 days but I am so excited (I know we just went in January). I love Disney World, there's just something about it that makes me so happy. I know, I know its the happiest place on earth! Part of the joy to me is in the planning process. I love making charts with all the park information on them and then deciding when to go to each park. My head starts spinning with all the possibilities. I start dreaming about what are days are going to be like, what rides we are going to ride, what we are going to see and just how much fun we are going to have. I enjoy living fairly close to Disney (its a 10 hour drive), but I wish I lived even closer.

Something I have always promised myself was to complete my Disney scrapbook from my previous trip before I leave for my next Disney trip, which means I have about three weeks. I guess what I am trying to say is...be prepared to see a lot of Disney layouts in the coming weeks :)

Below is a picture from a previous trip, just to put another smile on my face.

Is the weekend really over?

I can't believe that is already Sunday night. I had a nice relaxing weekend, although it was really hot here. The good thing was I got to scrapbook a bunch. The perfect end to the weekend was the yummy enchiladas that my mom made.

Below is one of the layouts that I created.

Southern Night Under the Oaks

Last night we went to Southern Night Under the Oaks. We enjoyed articoke dip, carrot cake cupcakes and brownies while listening to Sweet Root, who were really good and then watched Big Fish. Below are some photos of our fun evening...

I'm really pumped to see the Making Memories Slice in action (and the price of it!). It seems to have some really cute shapes and an excellent product line to support it, so I think it's going to be a hit. Thanks for doing a RAK! Happy birthday to your niece!Brit (ArtIsMySunshine from CKMB)

Layouts from this weekend

Well, I had fun this weekend, even though I wasn't at CHA :(

Friday night we went out to dinner with friends and then went downtown and watched Little Shop of Horrors at the Paramont in the Park event. Then I got to scrap yesterday and today, until I ran out of adhesive! I had to make an emergency trip to the store. Below are some layouts I created...

For this layout I used all items from Parisian Studio's July kit.

This layout has paper from Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey.

This layout has paper from Basic Grey, Bazzill and SEI.

This layout I complete using Basic Grey paper.

For this layout I used Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricut and Scenic Route. I also used a sticker from American Crafts.

Basic Grey

I love Basic Grey and when I heard that there were no sneak peeks for CHA Summer, I was disappointed. I really wanted to see what new lines they were going to come out with. Well, they have a small sneak peek on their website If you keep refreshing the page, you will get to see a little of all 5 new lines. I have to say Ambrosia and Granola are my favorites, but I am anxious to see the others: Eva, Offbeat and Urban Praire.

A pair of layouts

I complete two more layouts for my Disney album tonight...

The first one I used Mickey ears as a mask and painted over them, so when I removed the mask I was left with what I think is a cool effect. This page has papers from Bazzill, Basic Grey and Crate paper.

It was really foggy the morning we were at Hollywood Studios (I still want to call it MGM, but that's a different story), so I wanted to stay with that feel when I created this page. The paper is Basic Grey and Crate Paper.

New Curtains

My mom made me curtains to cover up my closet in the master. Kip and my dad hung up the curtains today and they look beautiful. I love the whole wall of curtains!

WDW Album Update

Several people have inquired about my WDW album, so below is some more information.

I made the album myself using Basic Grey Archaic Boulder paper for the filler pages. Basic Grey is only one sided so I had to adhere two pieces together for every page (What can I say, I really liked the paper). The covers (which aren't pictured) are chipboard covered with various Basic Grey Periphery pattern paper. I binded the album using my Bind-It-All (what a awesome machine).

I decorated the pages using different papers from Scenic Route, Cosmo Cricket, American Crafts, Bazzill, and more Basic Grey (I am not finished with the album, so I may add more paper from other companies).

The stamps used for journaling are from October Afternoon and are offered as an Add On item (or you can purchase separately) to the July Kit from Parisian Studio. If added to your purchase with the main monthly kit the stamps will ship for free.

The edges of the paper are distressed with Tim Holz distressing inks. I also added maps and various other items from Disney in between the pages for fun references.

Oh, I also "hide" Mickey's on each page!

I'll add additional page pictures as I complete the layouts. Any other questions, please ask. :)

Happy Birthday Sweetie!!!

It's Kip's birthday today, I won't tell you how old he is but I'll give you a clue...I always wished that he was born a day sooner so his birthday could be 7-7-77. I just don't understand why my MIL didn't induce or have a C-section:)

Since it's his special day, we are going to go to Cheesecake Bistro for some BBQ Chicken pizza and of course cheesecake. Yummy! I can't wait.

Love you sweetie, even if you are getting old ;)

Junk Find

I got this cabinet, along with some jadeite cups and saucers, and various other vintage kitchen items for $50. I love this cabinet! The middle section holds my cricut perfectly, even when in use. And the closed storage holds lot of supplies, tools, my ck magazines, stamps and more. This is the perfect addition to my scrap space.

WDW

I can’t believe it’s already Sunday, that means my three day weekend is almost over. I am sad; it seems that the weekends always go by so fast. But I did get some layouts completed from our recent trip to Disney World (back in January). We always end up with stacks of photos after going to WDW and I am always so overwhelmed by the idea of creating layouts for so many photos. I want the layouts to reflect the fun and enjoyment we experienced, yet still be beautiful.

For this trip I decided to try a new size - 6x12, I thought that this would allow me to feature many photos with different “topics” and still allow me to have enough room for journaling and embellishments. I am now in love with the 6x12 size. It is perfect! If you have not tried a 6x12 layout I suggest you give it a try. What are you waiting for?

Below are some 6x12 layouts I completed this weekend, enjoy.

Fresh Summer

We went to the farmers market today and I took this photo of one of the booths. The vegetables are beautiful - all lined up, fresh, and colorful. We are definitely in the middle of summer!

Here is a layout I did with this photo, I couldn't wait to scrap it. All items are from Parisian Studio's July kit.

Happy 4th!

One of my favorite things to take photos of are fireworks, whether it’s the fourth of July or one of the many Disney nighttime spectaculars. I love the pure black sky with a burst of color. When I take firework pictures there are many not so great photos for every one beautiful photo. I just keep taking photos and sometimes end up with hundreds!

To all those serving our country and their families, a big THANK YOU.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th; I am off to take some more firework photos….

Orange and Green???

They just opened a new Pottery Barn here in Baton Rouge last weekend. I went the opening day and couldn’t help but notice all the apple green and orange items. I love this color combination even though I am not normally a fan of orange. Here is a recent page I did using these wonderful summer colors.

All items used are included in the July kit from Parisian Studio, LLC.

First Post

I never thought that I was the kind of person to start a blog, but people change and it was about time that I joined the bandwagon. So here I am...

I am excited to have a three day weekend starting tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. I am definitely going to be counting down until then. I don't have that much planned but my husband Kip and I will be going to my parents for a BBQ on Friday and we will then watch the fireworks from our front porch.

If you haven't heard my company Parisian Studio, LLC launched their first monthly scrapbooking kit. Visit my website www.parisianstudio.com for more information.
