Inside Pages of the Favorite Vacations

I used the Parisian Studio's "Last Minute Vacation" project kit to make this mini-book on my favorite vacations that I have shared with my husband. I love the colors and the patterns of the paper.

Inspiration

I saw this in my new Country Home that came in the mail today and I love the idea (#1). It's a baby crib spring that was turned into an office organizer. It would look really cute with scrapbooking inspiration clipped on it. I'll have to keep my eye out for a crip spring. Plus the colors kinda match Septembers kit! :)

I won a drawing and some LOs

I don't tend to win stuff. Actually, I always say that I never win anything.

Well, our library had an open house and did a drawing to win some prizes. While I didn't win the grand prize I did win a book.

At first I was not too excited because it's a children's book and I don't have any kids. But I really like Bill Cosby - I got to see him speak at UWEC a couple years ago. When I opened up the book, I was surprised to see he autographed it! How awesome!

I started my puppy's scrapbook [I told you I don't have any kids, so my dog gets a scrapbook :)]

This first layout is the title page of his book. Sugar Ray will let us balance almost anything on his nose.

A layout about Sugar Ray and my DH.

This layout is about Sugar Ray's first experience with snow. He was so cute digging for snowballs and running in the snow.

Bike Ride and a LO

So I decided to go for a bike ride this afternoon. It is hot out there in the mid 90's with humidity. It was a lot of work, but I feel good! My DH started to die on me so we had to stop :)

Below is a layout I did last night on our visit to the myrtles this past spring. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, and Sassafras Lass (all include in the Parisian Studio kits), cardstock is Bazzill, flowers are Bazzill and MM, flower brad is from Little Yellow Bicycle, brad from Basic Grey, stamp from October Afternoon and thickers from American Crafts.

Goal - Completed

My goal was to complete my WDW album from my last Disney trip before leaving on my next trip. Well I completed my goal this morning when I finished the last page. My last page is a reminder of our favorites, things we didn't get to but want to next trip, and things to avoid. I made little tags with the top 5 in each category and then stapled ribbon loops on each for ease of pulling out of the pockets. Since this album has no page protectors I really wanted it to have some interaction throughout the album. Now I can work on some other projects :)

It's a bird, it's a plane....no it's balloons.

We went and watched the State Balloon Competition at Pennington this morning. I love seeing all the balloons flying overhead. It brings back childhood memories of watching the balloons fly over our house while eating breakfast in Colorado.

This first photo is of the first couple balloons rising up in the early dawn light. When we sat down we did not realize that we had chosen the perfect seats, the balloons went right over our heads and seeing them from underneath is really awesome.

Scrap Happy Weekend

Since I am in a race to finish my Disney album, I did a lot of Disney scrapping this weekend. But in between completing pages, I went grocery shopping, gave the dog a bath and went and saw Mamma Mia! It was a fun movie, makes me want to go to Greece.

I think this page is one of my favorite. I had alot of fun distressing the Basic Grey paper. The Africa diecut was very bright shiny orange. Since I wanted to tone it down I layered a bunch of inks, but the inks were just sliding off. Therefore I "sealed" them with some embossing powder. I only put one coat on because I think it almost looks like worn leather all bubbly.

Detail shot...

I am really enjoying creating my own album and being able to add in the little extras.

I love night photos and even though it was raining the night we were at Epcot, I still got some great shots of Germany and China.

Look even Mickeys appear in nature at Disney World.

Expressions

I took some photos my puppy this morning; he is so photogenic. The one below is my favorite. I love the expression in his eyes.

I finally completed this layout of when my mom co-stared in Pride with Terrence Howard and Bernie Mac. To show that stardom went to her head I add some photos that were taken at Disney's MGM. Pattern paper is Basic Grey.

Happy August!

Today is the first day of August and it is hot and humid here in Baton Rouge. Summer is coming to a close, it's the last day that I can wear business casual to work. Starting Monday it's back to suits and pantyhose (ick!) and in two weeks the semester starts back up and all the students will be piling back into the classrooms. Even though it feels like summer it will be the start of a great fall semester, I hope. BRCC is celebrating their 10 year anniversary with great activities and special events planned for a whole year!

On a different topic, since today is the first of the month Parisian Studio's posted their new kit with a couple add on options.

I am also excited that today is Friday, because I get to go out to dinner with friends. We rotate who gets to choose the restuarant and I am anxiously awaiting to find out where we are going. Well where ever it is I know it will be yummy and I'll be in good company. Have a great Friday!
